Photo journalism, portraits, advertising photos, the most varied events and, time and again, South Tyrol – the region, its people –all this sums up the photographer Othmar Seehauser. He began his professional career as a press photographer with a consuming passion for Latin America. He first attracted attention in the early 1980s with his sensitive social reports from Brazil, Peru and Paraguay while commuting between continents. From 1988 to 2006 he worked as a freelance photographer for the South Tyrolean weekly magazine “FF”. Assignments for the German news magazine “Der Spiegel” took him to the Amazon region, to Siberia, Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Othmar Seehauser has been successfully producing the “BM Bolzano Bozen Magazine” published by the Bolzano Tourist Board since 2003. He is co-founder of the first South Tyrol photograph agency suedtirolfoto.com through which part of his archive can be accessed on-line, and is also co-initiator of the association “South Tyrolean Professional Photographers”.
